Working Principle
During X-ray exposure, when the primary X-ray beam penetrates the object, part of the radiation will be scattered. These scattered rays create fog on the image and reduce contrast. The X-ray grid consists of lead absorber strips and interspace filler. Primary X-rays travel along the direction of lead slits and pass through the grid. Scattered rays strike the lead strips and get absorbed. By blocking scatter radiation, the grid greatly boosts image definition for radiographic diagnosis.
