X-ray Grid for Digital Radiography
When selecting a X-ray grid, there are several factors to consider, including the desired mounting location. The main specifications of grids include size, grid density, grid ratio and focal length. The size selection should match the size of the imaging cassette or flat panel detector, for example, a 14*17-inch imaging plate should be paired with a 15*18-inch grid. There are three conventional grid ratio specifications: 12:1, 10:1 and 8:1, and the focal length varies according to the shooting site. For example, a grid with a focal length of 1.8 meters is usually selected for an upright chest X-ray, while For parts such as the supine lumbar spine, a grid with a focal length of 1 meter is used.
