The role of high power collimators

The role of high power collimators
The beam limiter, also known as “shutter”, “shrinker” or “beam shutter”, is installed in the window of the X-ray tube sleeve for blocking during X-ray inspection.
Go for unnecessary primary X-rays. It can limit the X-ray irradiation field to the minimum required range, so that the patient can receive X-ray irradiation.
Dosage is minimized. The main functions of the beam limiter can be summarized as follows:
a. Limit the irradiation field to minimize the dose to the patient and operator.
b. Reduce the area where secondary rays are generated, and improve the clarity of perspective and radiographs.
c. Block leakage rays as much as possible.
