X-ray Exposure Hand Switch: Functions, Configurations & Custom Options

Recently, some customers have inquired about the 1st gear and 2nd gear functions of the X-ray machine exposure hand switch. Let’s take this opportunity to give you a detailed explanation of this device.

1st Gear X-ray Exposure Hand Switch

Inside the 1st gear X-ray exposure hand switch, there is only one pair of normally open switches, which controls the on-off of a circuit and thus regulates the X-ray machine’s high-voltage circuit. When the button is pressed, the gear depresses to bring the contacts into contact, closing the circuit. This energizes the X-ray machine’s high-voltage circuit, generating high voltage and ultimately producing X-rays. When the hand switch button is released, the button pops back up, disconnecting the contacts and cutting off the circuit. No high voltage is supplied at this point, so X-ray generation stops.

Dual-Speed X-ray Exposure Hand Switch

The dual-speed X-ray exposure hand switch is equipped with two pairs of normally open switches, each controlling circuits with different stroke settings. Their contacts manage the two circuits separately:
  • When the 1st gear button is pressed, the corresponding normally open switch contact closes, activating the circuit and putting the X-ray machine into a pre-exposure state. This state is cancelable—simply release the 1st gear button cap to initiate the cancellation process, and no X-rays will be generated during this period.
  • The 2nd gear button controls another normally open switch contact. When pressed, this contact closes the X-ray machine’s high-voltage generation circuit, triggering X-ray production. After releasing the button, all the aforementioned circuits are cut off, and the machine returns to its non-exposure state.

Configuration Options

The X-ray exposure hand switch is available in the following configurations:
  • 3-core (3 meters) or 4-core (3 meters)
  • Longer lengths (6 meters, 10 meters) are optional upon request.
Note: “3 meters” refers to a 30cm spring cable formed from a 3-meter straight cable.
By now, you should have a clearer understanding of the X-ray exposure hand switch. If you need customized options, please contact our company by phone for customization and purchase!
