DR remains a type of X-ray imaging technology, so it does produce X-ray ionizing radiation—specifically, radiation is generated when the exposure handswitch is pressed. However, the X-ray dose of DR is extremely low, accounting for less than 2% of that from a standard chest X-ray.
DR diagnostic technology works by converting X-ray information that has penetrated the human body into digital signals. These signals then undergo computer-based post-processing to reconstruct high-quality images. This technology boasts exceptional resolution, producing highly detailed images that provide reliable support for accurate clinical diagnosis.
Crucially, DR imaging is completed in just a few seconds. The brief radiation exposure window translates to minimal potential harm to patients, making it a very safe examination method.
