Can image intensifiers be used for fluoroscopy?

The answer is yes. Fluoroscopy, as a dynamic imaging process, requires devices equipped with either an image intensifier or a dynamic flat-panel detector. This is distinct from radiography—a static imaging process—much like the difference between a mobile phone’s photo (static) and video (dynamic) functions.
From a radiation safety perspective, it’s advisable to minimize the use of chest fluoroscopy or other fluoroscopic X-ray procedures when possible. Fluoroscopy involves multiple X-ray exposures in a short timeframe, resulting in a relatively higher radiation dose and longer exposure duration compared to static radiography.
Currently, the main scenarios and equipment relying on image intensifiers for dynamic imaging include C-arms, gastrointestinal examination tables, industrial non-destructive testing (NDT) X-ray machines, and angiography systems—all of which require real-time dynamic imaging. While dynamic flat-panel detectors are gradually becoming the mainstream alternative, image intensifiers still dominate half of the dynamic imaging market. Their advantages lie in mature technology, strong durability, and low maintenance costs—especially when compared to high-wattage dynamic flat-panel detectors (often 10 watts or even dozens of watts).

After more than 10 years of technical research, Weifang Huading Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. has taken the lead in breaking the international technical blockade of image intensifiers, realizing localization, and reducing the cost of image intensifiers of 10 or more watts to about 10 watts. If you have If there is a need for supporting production, maintenance and replacement of image intensifiers, please inquire and discuss cooperation matters. People from all walks of life are welcome to inquire and discuss matters such as supporting production, maintenance and replacement, and agency trade.
